The "N" Family

Several years ago, my wife and I felt a stirring in our hearts to grow our family through adoption. We had always felt a deep empathy for children in need of loving homes, and we began praying earnestly for guidance and clarity on whether adoption was the right path for us. Through prayer and seeking God's will, we started to feel a sense of confirmation and peace about adopting a child. Doors began to open unexpectedly—we connected with an adoption consultant who resonated with our values, and we felt a strong sense of assurance that this was the direction God was leading us.
As we navigated the adoption process, there were challenges and uncertainties, but we continuously saw God's provision and guidance every step of the way. We encountered supportive friends and family who encouraged us and experienced a profound sense of peace that we were following God's plan for our family.
Finally, after a nine-month journey filled with prayer, paperwork, and waiting, we were blessed to be matched with an infant due in September 2024. Through the entire adoption journey, we grew closer to God and deepened our trust in His faithfulness. We witnessed firsthand His heart for the fatherless and His desire to bring hope and restoration through adoption. Our experience reinforced the truth that God's plans are perfect and His timing is always right, even when we don't fully understand it at the time. Adopting a child was not only a beautiful way to expand our family but also a profound example of God's love and provision in our lives. It has been a transformative journey that continues to shape our faith and our understanding of God's heart for His children.
We were led to Families by Adoption, LLC through word of mouth from a trusted friend. After hearing about their positive experience working with the office, we did further research online and found consistently great reviews, especially in the adoption Facebook groups. We then reached out and spent time praying for guidance, which ultimately led us to move forward with Families by Adoption, LLC.
We saw God working in our adoption story from day one. Throughout the process, even as multiple adoption opportunities were presented to us, we consistently prayed for the right one at the right time. When we were presented with our son, we felt a clear sense of peace and direction from God that led us to move forward. Even during moments of uncertainty, particularly leading up to delivery and not knowing if the birth mother would choose us, we remained faithful in God’s Word and sought guidance and reassurance from Ray when needed. We truly believe God had His hand in every part of our adoption journey, and it is a story we will always share to encourage and inspire others.
Our advice to others hoping to adopt is to trust God’s timing and remain patient, even during moments of uncertainty or disruption. The adoption journey may not always move in the way you expect; and there may be delays, changes, or emotional challenges along the way. During those times, lean into prayer, stay grounded in faith, and remember that God’s plan is always intentional. Be open, stay encouraged, and surround yourself with a strong support system. What may feel like a setback can often be God’s way of preparing you for exactly what He has planned. Patience and faith will carry you through; and in the end, the journey will be worth it.
One unique and meaningful part of our adoption journey was being blessed to work with an adoption lawyer and team who truly put their clients first. As first-time adoptive parents, we leaned heavily on the staff at Families by Adoption, LLC; and we are incredibly grateful for their honesty, guidance, and hard work throughout the entire process from matching to the final adoption hearing. We have read and heard stories from other adoptive parents who did not receive that level of care and support, which makes us even more thankful for the service and dedication we experienced.
Another unique and special aspect of our adoption is the relationship we built with our son’s birth family. From the beginning, it was important to us to honor his story and create a foundation rooted in respect and love. We will always share his adoption story with him; and while communication may not be daily, his birth mother is appreciative of us sharing important moments from his life. We are forever grateful to her for the ultimate sacrifice she made choosing to provide her birth son with a stable, loving home she knew she could not provide at that time. That decision reflects a profound and selfless love, and it is something we will always honor.
