Letter From Jen And Joey

Dear Birth Mother,

My name is Jen, and my husband's name is Joey.  We are so thankful that you are choosing to give your precious baby life and for placing your baby for adoption.  We have both desired to adopt for a long time, and it would not be possible without a loving birth mother like you.

Jen And JoeyJoey and I got married almost four years ago.  Joey has a ten year old daughter named Claudia from a previous marriage.  I love her as if she was my own, and she is a joy to both of us.  Joey and I have a one year old son together named Gus.  He, too, is a joy!  Joey is a crew leader for a tree company, but he also ran a camp for children for several years.  I work for a mortgage company.  Before starting with the mortgage company in January, I worked in education for 14 years.  I have an elementary education degree and taught in public schools for 12 years.  Then I was an early interventionist for two years.  As an early interventionist, I worked with 0-3 year old children who had developmental delays.

Jen And JoeyJoey and I both enjoy being outdoors.  He enjoys deer hunting in the fall.  We both like to go camping during the summer and try to make it to the beach once a year.  I love the beach!  I am from Texas so we travel to see my family and friends there at least once a year, as well.  We live near where Joey grew up so all of his family is nearby.  We have nieces and nephews that play with Claudia and Gus regularly.  We are also very active in our church.  Joey is a deacon, and I work in the children's ministry.  We also lead a community group that meets regularly at our house.

We moved into our house in December 2010.  We love it!  We have a big backyard that ends at a shallow creek.  The nursery is ready for our baby that we look forward to bringing home!

We have a dog named Clare and a cat named Skippyjon Jones.  They are both very patient and sweet with Claudia and Gus, and Claudia and Gus love them a lot!

Joey and I have desired to adopt for years.  We both very much want to add to our family through adoption.  We think family time is very important so we spend a lot of time together, including sitting down for evening meals and “hanging out” together at night and on weekends when we are not at work or school.  We believe friendships are very important for children, just as they are for adults, so we make sure that ours spend time with other children.  We want our children to be well rounded so we encourage them to pursue their interests, such as musical instruments, sports activities, and art.  Education is also very important to us.  We do all we can to be involved in the educational and social aspects of school, because we feel it is important for parents to be involved in their children's education both at home and school. Gus and I also enjoy going to eat lunch with Claudia at her school periodically.

Once again, we want to thank you for your willingness to place your child for adoption.  We thank you so much for giving your child life and the opportunity to grow up being loved.  You are a blessing to your child and to the adoptive family who will welcome your child into their home.  We greatly admire and respect this decision you are making.

Thank you for considering us as an adoptive family.

Sincerely,
Jen and Joey
