Letter From Richard and Mary
Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you for this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are excited about becoming parents through adoption. We look forward to sharing our lives, love and happiness with a child of our own. We truly admire your courage and strength and are looking forward to starting this incredible journey with you.
We met in 2004 and quickly fell in love and knew that we wanted to spend our lives together and start a family. We were married in 2006 in a fairy-tale like wedding that included our closest friends and family. We love to make each other laugh, share many of the same values and have created a stable and supportive life. R.J. is the Assistant General Manager for a large wholesale corporation where he has established a successful career and Mary works from home which will allow her to spend more time with a child.
We enjoy spending time together with our dogs, Cassan & Baxter. They're extremely friendly, gentle, and lovable. Children often stop and pet them as we take a walk - they're great with kids! We also enjoy listening to music, watching movies, arts & theater, traveling, hiking, picnics, swimming, tennis, and getting together with friends and family. R.J. plays the drums, enjoys biking, and loves to play and watch sports. Mary loves to read, sew and get together with girlfriends. We look forward to catching fireflies, watching fireworks, and sharing adventures as a family.
We live in a beautiful, family-friendly neighborhood in upstate South Carolina. We are close to parks, playgrounds, and have a great community swimming pool. Our fenced-in back yard is perfect for playing, exploring, and having fun! Inside our home is cozy and warm, with plenty of room ready to go. We are enjoying converting a spare bedroom in to a darling new nursery.
Our extended family is very large as R.J. has 4 siblings and Mary has 7 siblings. We are all very close and enjoy spending lots of time together. We love to celebrate just about any occasion and everyone is very excited to love a new grandchild, niece, nephew, or cousin.
Our community is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are minutes from hiking trails, parks, and lakes with a downtown that offers shopping, culture, sports, theatre, festivals, and dining. Close to several major cities and a few hours from the beach (we look forward to building sand castles during our summer vacation.) We are very committed to providing a quality education and our school district is top-rated.
We promise to raise children in a safe and nurturing home, filled with love, laughter, creativity, and respect. From the first smile of the day to reading bedtime stories, we will play an active role in every day of a child's life. We have dreamed of holding a child in our arms for some time and we know that we will not take your gift for granted. We will provide endless and unconditional love, a strong sense of family, constant encouragement and support in order to ensure that a child grows in to a strong, confident, kind adult.
