Letter From Matthew and Rebekah

We are Matt and Rebekah. Thank you taking the time to get to know us better. We thank you for considering us in your very important decisions you are facing right now. We hope this information will give you a look into our lives.
Our story together began in 2005, when we began dating in Papua New Guinea. About a year later we were married in Soldotna, Alaska, on November 18, 2006. We honeymooned in cold Homer, Alaska. Snow, cold temperatures, and ice- laden beaches are our memories of Homer, Alaska.
Due to our work situation, we traveled all over the United States during our first year of marriage. From Alaska, to Washington, Utah, to Colorado, to the east coast, we visited our family, our many nieces and nephews, and many other work associates and their families as well.
In 2007, we moved back to Papua New Guinea (PNG) where we work as missionaries. Our work involves among many other things teaching at school there. We have many dear friends in Papua New Guinea. It has been the joy of our heart to teach these students in PNG.
Our life is rather simple. We like outdoor activities and make a hobby of exercise and physical fitness. One special tradition we have is a Christmas morning hike. While we don't have winter in PNG, we have beautiful scenery all around us to enjoy. Evenings are spent talking with each other and reading. We both count each other as our best friend.
Both of us came from large families. We each have 4 siblings, all of which are married and have kids. Between our two families we have 29 nieces and nephews! Family get-togethers are filled with fun. Rebekah's sister and her husband with their 18 month old little girl even came for a visit in PNG. Elizabeth loved PNG and PNG loved Elizabeth.
We knew before we married that we would not be able to conceive a child, but we also knew we loved children. It would be our greatest privilege to build a family through adoption. We honor and respect your part in choosing what is best for your child. We want you to know that we are committed to providing a loving and safe environment in our home. Rebekah's family has known the blessing of adoption first hand as Rebekah's mother was adopted in the mid-1950's in Chicago. We would love to pass that blessing on to another generation.
